The Ukrainian market of chicken and sunflower oil is represented by the smallest difference in the cost of products between regions. The chairman of the Association of suppliers of trade networks, Oleksii Doroshenko, wrote about it on his Facebook page, АgroРolit.com reports.
He explained that today the highest cost of carcass of chicken is recorded in the Chernivtsi region - 57.5 UAH per kilogram of product. The average cost of the product in Ukraine is 53.7 UAH per kg. Therefore, the difference in price is only 3.8 UAH or 7%. In the sunflower oil market, this figure is 6%.
"The less the difference in the cost of products between regions, the more organized is the market of this product. On all products, the smallest difference between the regions in the markets of chicken and sunflower oil. The share of individual players in these indistries is high, if not the key one. And the biggest difference in prices for potatoes and salo, which are produced almost exclusively in households. Therefore, pricing is chaotic, " says the expert.
Compared with chicken, pricing in the pork and beef market is less organized. For example, the highest cost of pork - in the Zakarpattia region - 123.2 UAH per kilogram of product. The average cost of a product in Ukraine is 107.9 UAH per kg. Consequently, the difference in price is only 15.3 UAH or 14%. And in the beef market, this figure is 11%.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, last year chicken meat remained the cheapest type of meat. This year, chicken meat ranks first in the lowest price indicators. Last month, Ukrainians could buy 1 kg of chicken on average for 41.4 UAH, and a kilogram of pork - for 65.1 UAH. Beef cost Ukrainians an average of 70 UAH per kilogram of product.
