ASF registered at the state enterprise in the Poltava region

African swine fever (ASF) is registered in the Kyiv and Poltava regions.

This is reported by the press service of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

According to the information of the General Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Kyiv region, on March 12, a disease and death of pigs was recorded in the private farm household (Mykulychi village, Borodianskyi district, Kyiv region).

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and the Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise (Kyiv), DNA of the African swine fever virus (ASF) was detected on 12.03.2018 (report on the results of investigation No. 002136 p.m./18 of 12/03/2018).

In addition, according to the information of the General Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Poltava region, on March 14, 2013, the disease and the death of pigs were recorded in the SE "Stepne" (Stepne village, Poltava district, Poltava region). In the study of selected samples of the biomaterial in the Regional State Laboratory of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Poltava region on 14.03.2018, the DNA of the ASF virus was identified (report on the results of the study No. 000686 p.m./18 dated 14.03.2018).

In order to coordinate actions to localize and eliminate ASF outbreaks, a meeting of the state emergency antiepizootic commissions was held at Borodyansky and Poltava regional state administrations, the decisions of which approved plans for the elimination of ASF, the borders of epizootic foci, protection and surveillance zones.

In the foci of the disease, measures are taken to localize and prevent the spread of the pathogen of ASF.
