Ukrainians invest abroad in food companies, agricultural companies and mining companies. This was reported by the economic expert Borys Kushniruk on the TV channel “112”, АgroРolit.com reported.

It is reported that over the past 5 years there has been a decline in investment abroad. This is due to the deterioration of the macroeconomic situation in the country. 95% of investments from Ukraine are in Cyprus.

According to the expert, the entry of Ukrainian companies into the markets of other countries and investing abroad is a positive moment in the assessment of Ukrainian business.

“The very fact that big business, and we believe that this is a very big business, expands its influence and enters the markets of Western countries, there’s nothing bad in that. It actually means that they are powerful enough to be able to expand their influence and their capabilities,” Borys Kushniruk said.

According to the expert, access with investments in foreign markets is possible only if the business is confident in a quality product.

“Another type of investment is when certain commodity opportunities are bought. For example, as Metinvest bought in the United States and in Europe. Therefore, there is another option, when production is purchased there, it is possible to supply semi-finished products there and process or, on the contrary, buy raw materials. Coal, for example, they buy coked there and take it to Ukraine,” the expert said.
