The number of agricultural enterprises engaged in the production of livestock products has been systematically reducing over the past three years.

At the beginning of 2018 the number of agricultural enterprises engaged in the production of livestock products was 5042. At the beginning of 2017 there were 5359 such enterprises. Although there were 5,960 agricultural enterprises engaged in the production of livestock products at the beginning of 2016.

Such data was received by the Ukrainian Stock Breeders Association from the State Statistics Service by the letter of May 3, 2018 No. 15.2-20/766 PI.

Compared to early 2017 the number of such enterprises as of the beginning of 2018 have decreased by 317 (-5.92%). In comparison with the beginning of 2016 at the beginning of 2017 - by 601 (-10.08%).

"We see that in the last three years in Ukraine, according to official statistics, there is a tendency of reducing the number of agricultural enterprises engaged in the production of animal products. Over two years we have lost 918 enterprises, which is 15.41%," Iryna Palamar, the head of the Ukrainian Stock Breeders Association commented. - Now we still cannot estimate the whole year by the number of enterprises engaged in the production of livestock products. However, this year the state provides subsidies for the construction and reconstruction of livestock farms and complexes, milking parlors, agricultural processing enterprises, so let's hope that the dynamics with the number of enterprises will be positive and start to increase."
