According to the calculations of scientists of the Institute of Agrarian Economics, the gross agricultural output in 2017 will decrease by 2.6% against the indicators of 2016 and will amount to 247.9 billion UAH.
This was announced by the director of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics", academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine Yurii Lupenko, the press service of the NSC informs.
According to him, the gross output of crop production is projected at the level of 178.7 billion UAH - by 3.4% less than in the previous year. At the same time, an increase in the production of wheat, rye, buckwheat, pea, rice, rapeseed and potatoes is expected.
According to the forecasts of scientists of the Institute of Agrarian Economics, the gross output of livestock production is expected at the level of 69.2 billion UAH, which is 0.6% less than in 2016.
"Production of meat of cattle, poultry and eggs will increase somewhat. At the same time, the production of meat is expected to decrease - the output of livestock and poultry, as well as milk and wool, " says Yurii Lupenko.
