Ukrainian export increased by 23.5% in January 2018

In January 2018 the export of Ukrainian goods amounted to $ 3,724.2 million, import - $ 4008.3 million, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reports in an information note on the socio-economic situation of Ukraine, АgroРolit.com reported.

The report says that compared with January 2017 ukrainian export increased by 23.5% ($ 709.7 million), import - by 31.4% ($ 958.5 million). The negative balance was $ 284.1 million (in January 2017 - also negative - $ 35.3 million).

"The share of ferrous metals, electric cars, seeds and fruits of oilseeds, mechanical machines increased in the total volume of export of goods in comparison with January 2017. But the share of grain crops, fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin decreased," is said in the information note.

According to the State Statistics Service, almost half of Ukrainian export go to European countries. Thus, the volume of export to the countries of the European Union amounted to $ 1,707.6 million, or 45.8% of the total volume of export (in January 2017 - $ 1191.1 million or 39.5%), and increased, compared to January 2017 by $ 516, 5 million or 43.4%.

"The largest exports to the EU countries were the products of the agro-industrial complex and food industry - 31.2% of the total exports, base metals and goods thereof - 23.3%, mineral products - 14.4%," the State Statistics Service said.

The most export deliveries of goods among the EU member states were carried out to Poland, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany. Among the other countries of the world, the most exported goods to Turkey, the Russian Federation, India, Egypt and Belarus. Among the largest partner countries, exports of goods increased to the Netherlands by 77.3%, Germany by 60.3%, Belarus by 54.4%, Hungary by 50.4%, China by 37.8%, Poland - by 33.3%, Italy by 31.5%, Turkey by 30.1%, decreased to India by 37.3%, Egypt - by 19.1%.

In the total volume of imports of goods, the share of various chemical products, plastics, and polymeric materials has increased. The share of fuels of mineral, oil and products of its processing, electric machines has decreased.

Import of goods from the countries of the European Union amounted to $ 1513.7 million or 37.8% of the total (in January 2017, respectively, $ 1209.3 million or 39.7%), and increased against the corresponding period of 2017 by $ 304.4 million or 25.2%.

"The most significant volumes of imports of goods from the EU countries are the products of chemical and related industries - 21.9%, electric and mechanical machines - 20.6%, mineral products - 12.7%, agro-industrial and food products 11,5%, land vehicles, aircraft, water crafts - 8.2% Among the EU countries the most significant imports of goods were from Germany, Poland, France and Italy," is said in the analytical report.

Among the other countries in the world, the largest imports of goods came from the Russian Federation, China, Belarus, the United States and Switzerland. Compared with January 2017, imports of goods have increased from China by 54.2%, Hungary by 50.5%, Turkey by 49.4%, Italy by 42.4%, Poland by 38.0% by 37.3%, the Russian Federation by 32.0%, Belarus by 22.9% and Germany by 12.1%.
