Ukrainian producers of agrarian organic products will be able to significantly increase its exports, as the demand for organic products on the world market is growing rapidly.

According to the deputy head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food for European Integration Olha Trofimtseva, Ukrainian producers of agrarian organic products export about 300 thousand tons of this product for a year for more than $ 65 million.
"We supply more than 80% of the products for export. The lion's share in the structure of exports falls on the EU countries. Also buyers of our products are Switzerland, USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, " notes the Deputy Minister.
The basis of exports of organic products are in tons of grain. Cereals, oilseeds and legumes. Trofimtseva said that on February 28 the draft law No. 5448, the so-called organic bill, which is important not only for the organic market of Ukraine, but also is an eurointegration bill, will be considered in the parliamentary profile committee. She expressed hope that in the near future the draft law will be submitted for a second reading in the Verkhovna Rada and will soon be adopted.
The Deputy Minister also noted that at present in Ukraine the area of agricultural land with an organic status is almost 290 thousand hectares, another 92 thousand hectares is the area of agricultural land in the transition period. The total number of operators of the organic market is 426, 294 of which are producers.
