Over 5 months of 2018 Ukraine imported 22.5 thousand tons of salo, which is 57.3% more than over the same period in 2017. This was reported by zik.ua.
In monetary terms the import of salo amounted to $ 14 million. The main importers of salo in Ukraine were Poland and Germany. So, Poland imported to Ukraine 5,9 thousand tons of products, German manufacturers - 5,2 thousand tons of salo. As for exports, Ukrainian producers sold only 1 ton of national product to foreign markets.
In addition, since early 2018 in Ukraine, salo has risen in price by 6.5%, and pork - by 4.2%. Higher in price salo is sold in Kyiv city - 104 UAH per kilogram. In the Lviv region, the product costs 90 UAH per kilogram, in Kyiv region - 79 UAH. One can save some money in the Ternopil region, where salo costs 48 UAH. And also in Volyn - 49 UAH.
It bears reminding thatover January-May domestic traders exported 0.92 thousand tons of pork, which is 3.4 times less than for the corresponding period of the previous year.
