Over January-August, 2018 Ukraine has exported more than 130 million tons of dairy products for a total of $ 228.3 million, an increase of $ 17.8 million compared to the same period last year. This was told by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on issues of European integration Olha Trofimtseva, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
"Over eight months of this year Ukraine has increased the export of dairy products to the markets of other countries by almost $ 17.8 million compared to the same period last year. The first place among export items was taken by animal oil, which was exported for a total by $ 92.4 million. The second place belonged to condensed milk by $ 43.7 million, the third - casein by $ 30.6 million," Olha Trofimtseva commented.
According to her, Ukraine has also exported Ukrainian cheeses for $ 20.04 million over this period, milk whey for $ 14.1 million, ice cream for $ 11.9 million, milk and unconcentrated cream by $ 9.7 million, fermented milk products by $ 5,7 million.
The largest buyers of Ukrainian oil were Morocco - $ 21.2 million, Turkey - $ 13.2 million and the Netherlands - $ 8.8 million. Cheeses and cottage cheese were exported from Ukraine mainly to the markets of Kazakhstan and the amount of exports - $ 9.02 million, Moldova - $ 5.2 million, Egypt - $ 2.6 million.
"The import of dairy products from Ukraine also increased over this period and amounted to $ 55.9 million. We imported more cheeses for a total of $ 38.3 million, animal oil $ 4.8 million and dairy products worth over $ 5 million,” Olha Trofimtseva noted.
