According to the State Statistics Service in the first quarter of this year, Ukrainian agrarians exported to foreign markets products worth $ 4.3 billion. This amount corresponds to 38% of the total exports of Ukraine in January-March 2018, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
Traditionally, the largest share in agrarian exports is made up of plant products, which were exported for $ 2.2 billion, including cereals - $ 1.6 billion.
Also, fats and oils were exported - by $ 1.2 billion, finished food products - by $ 0.7 billion, live animals and animal products - by $ 279 million.
For the 1st quarter of 2018, agrarian products were imported to Ukraine for $ 1.3 billion, which made it possible to form a positive foreign trade balance for this group of goods of $ 3 billion.
In the context of commodity groups, Ukraine imported live animals and animal products by $ 210 million; products of plant origin - by $ 570 million; fats and oils - by $ 65 million; ready-made meals - by $ 498 million.
