Ukraine is exploring the possibilities of potential import of pedigree cattle from Austria for the purpose of developing genetics and increasing the productivity of the herd, breeding of cattle in Ukraine.

The chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Volodymyr Lapa, discussed with the representatives of the Austrian Association of Pedigree Cattle the question of the Ukrainian legislative framework in the field of veterinary medicine, in particular, the requirements for the importation of livestock.
The participants discussed the possibility of sharing experiences between Ukraine and Austria in the field of breeding cattle and cattle, the prospects for joint seminars and exercises for inspectors of competent authorities, farmers of both countries.
"The exchange of experience between Ukrainian and Austrian inspectors of the competent authorities will facilitate the transition to new standards that meet the EU requirements in the field of veterinary medicine, state control over the quality and safety of food," says Volodymyr Lapa.
