Last year, Ukraine became the leader in the rating of countries supplying poultry meat to Europe. One of the main reasons is the low cost of meat production in Ukraine. Last year Ukraine exported 163 thousand tons of poultry meat to the EU countries, thus increasing poultry exports to the EU by 41.9%. This is reported delo.ua.
The second place in this ranking was taken by Hong Kong, which last year supplied to the EU countries 148 thousand tons of poultry meat. Ghana closes the top three leaders with the export of poultry meat in 135 thousand tons.
International experts predict Ukraine's key role in the poultry market in the EU.
Prices for chicken in retail trade are also significantly different. In a German supermarket, 1 kg of chicken carcass costs about € 5, which is three times more than in Ukraine.
According to the SFS data, Ukraine exported 19.69 thousand tons of poultry and offal products in January 2018, which is 1.8 times more than in the same period in 2017. In monetary terms, exports of these products increased 2.3 times to $ 30.4 million.
