Ukraine and Saudi Arabia are trying to establish economic cooperation

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr. Judia Alhazal heads the Diplomatic Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Ukraine from the moment of its opening to the present time.

Commenting on the status of relations between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia, Mr. Judia Alhazal said that between the two friendly countries there are broad areas for cooperation, taking into account the great potential of Saudi Arabia and Ukraine, among the promising sectors: agrarian, as well as aviation.

He added: "During the visit of the President of Ukraine to the city of Riyadh at the end of 2017, three important bilateral agreements were signed, which we hope will strengthen cooperation, including an agreement on cooperation in agriculture between the two countries. It is likely to lead to an increase the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to Saudi Arabia."

The ambassador also noted that Ukraine exports a large amount of barley to the KSA, therefore Saudi Arabia is the first importer of barley from Ukraine. Nevertheless, it is possible to increase the volume of Ukrainian grain exports due to the above agreement.

In this context, one of the famous Saudi companies has invested more than $ 100 million in leasing agricultural land in the Lviv region.

The Ambassador noted that the two countries have all the conditions for deepening cooperation in the field of investment. It is expected that Ukraine will become a country attracting foreign investment, especially in the sphere of industry, agriculture and real estate, and this is due to the adoption by the Ukrainian government of new rules and laws that regulate and protect such investments. So more and more investors will explore investment opportunities in Ukraine.
