The key directions of German-Ukrainian cooperation in the framework of attracting international technical assistance to the agrarian sector were discussed at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
In particular, it was about projects that are being implemented by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany.
The meeting was held with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Viktor Sheremeta, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy Vladyslav Andronov, the adviser of the German Embassy in Ukraine on agricultural issues Hermann Interman, the head of the project "German-Ukrainian agro-political dialogue" Volker Zasse.
"In the focus of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy for 2018 - support for farming and cooperation. In this issue, the successful experience of other countries, in particular Germany is important for us. The implementation of joint projects will contribute to the development of rural areas, the availability of new technologies for small and medium-sized farmers, and the increase in the production of organic products," says Viktor Sheremeta.
Since 2016 in Ukraine, the project "German-Ukrainian agrarian policy dialogue" is being implemented. Among its key themes are rural development, improvement of agrarian education and science, raising standards of quality and safety of products. Another 4 projects are at different stages of state registration.
According to the participants of the meeting, successful reform of the agrarian sector is impossible without reforming the management bodies.
"Our task is to make the Ministry of Agrarian Policy an effective management body that initiates qualitative and timely decisions for the implementation of the selected reforms. Today we already have two new directorates - food safety and quality, strategic planning and European integration. This year we plan to create three more - rural development, regulation of agrarian markets, agrarian industry, "- says Vladyslav Andronov.
The parties came to the conclusion that the agrarian sector is currently a promising area for cooperation and agreed to continue active dialogue and facilitate the implementation of projects.
The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany is implementing in Ukraine projects in the agricultural sector for about 10 million euros.
