Ukraine and Ethiopia agreed on the requirements for the import of live animals and livestock products

Within the framework of the official visit of the delegation of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection to Ethiopia on 18-23 March, meetings were held with the Minister of State Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Dr. Miskar Mekonen and Director of the Department for Disease Prevention and Control Dr. Alemaehu Mekonen Anbesse. This is reported by the press service of State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Director of the Department of Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Head of the State Control Department of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Mykola Bilous conducted a number of meetings at the National Center for Diagnostics and Research of Animal Health, the Chambers of Commerce of Ethiopia and Addis Ababa and the vaccination center of the African Union.

During the meetings, the Ukrainian delegation was acquainted with the structure, functions and responsibilities of the above-mentioned Ministry and the Veterinary Service of Ukraine. A presentation of the Ukrainian agricultural sector was also held during the visit.

The parties exchanged experience in the field of veterinary medicine and agreed on the requirements for the import of live animals and products of animal origin within the competence of the Ministry of Animal Production and Fisheries of Ethiopia.
