Since the beginning of the year, sugar, butter and chicken have fallen in price in Ukraine. This is evidenced by the data of the inflation barometer, as of May 7, reports UNN.
In the second half of March, the live pig market felt some revival. Such activation was a positive signal in the formation of prices this week. So, some suppliers of slaughter pigs were able to raise quotations by 0.5-1 UAH/kg relative to the previous week. As a result, the average market mark rose to 46.7 UAH/kg, agronews.ua reports
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman intends to fight the rise in food prices by saturating the domestic market with Ukrainian goods, and not returning to state regulation of prices, according to Segodnya.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the average prices of agricultural products sold by agricultural enterprises in 2017 as compared to 2016 increased for all types of products, except for beets of the dining room, the price of which decreased by 23 UAH/ton.
In 2017, retail meat prices rose on average in Ukraine by 37.6%, said a senior researcher at the Department of the agrarian market pricing and the National Scientific Center "Institute of agrarian economy" Svitlana Pashko.
