The Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in close cooperation with the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, milk producers and processors, profile organizations and international experts, carries out a number of activities aimed at developing the milk and dairy market in Ukraine. Thus, the ministry developed and published for public discussion the order "On Approving the Requirements for Safety and Quality of Milk and Dairy Products", the adoption of which will introduce the proper production practices for the production, processing and introduction of milk and dairy products, will establish uniform, adapted requirements to the EU norms.
It became possible due to the activity of the Ukrainian Stock Breeders Association in the direction of establishing trade links regarding cattle with this country.
On September 3 a delegation of inspectors from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia arrived in Ukraine to assess the control system for the cultivation of live cattle and sheep with the aim of exporting to the market of KSA, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection informed.
The top three leaders in terms of the population of cattle were Vinnytsia (304,000 heads), Poltava (264,500 heads) and Lviv (249,100 heads). This was reported in the State Statistics Committee, agronews.ua reported.

In Ukraine chicken is the most actively produced meat, the consumption of which is growing every year - the products of domestic poultry farms are in demand both on the domestic and international markets. Ukrainian pork almost completely provides the domestic market. Its export potential is limited due to the spread of ASF. Moreover, beef is the most expensive and laborious kind of meat. It occupied only 5.2% of the volume of the Ukrainian meat release in 2017, Pro-Consulting reported.
The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the competent body of the Republic of Turkey have agreed on a veterinary health certificate for fresh, chilled, frozen meat in carcasses/boning of cattle, intended for export to Turkey from Ukraine.
