More than 100 thousand Swiss people signed a ban on the use of pesticides. This is reported by agropages.com.

If the Swiss vote Yes, it will have a significant impact on the world market, since the company Syngenta, which is in Switzerland, is one of the largest producers of pesticides.

According to Swiss law, signatures will be transferred to the Federal Council. During the year the demand for banning pesticides will be submitted to the parliament. Over two years parliamentarians must organize an election, or put forward a counter proposal, which will also become part of the referendum.

The topic of the ban of agrochemicals has been actively discussed by EU officials over the last year. Recently, in Europe, the use of neonicotinoids, a widespread group of insecticides, has been completely banned.
