Situation with ASF in Ukraine remains tense

The epizootic situation in the country remains quite tense. The economic entities bear special damage for the African swine fever (ASF).

This was stated by the chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa, the press service of the ministry reports.

According to him, the task of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection experts is not only to carry out appropriate measures to eliminate the consequences of the detected disease, but also to prevent the spread of this virus.

According to Volodymyr Lapa, it was necessary to practice constant informing the population about the ways of preventing ASF in private, commodity farms and in wildlife.

"Previously, a moratorium on inspections of business entities was introduced, which somewhat dampened and relaxed entrepreneurs, which resulted in an increase in the incidence of ASF in the country. That is why the mode of work of the specialists of the Service by the farms should be precautionary, with realistic implementation plans, the character, "says the chairman of State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
