In Ukraine, since early 2018, prices for meat have risen. This is evidenced by the data of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Segodnya reported.

As the department notes, the rise in price of beef has become the most noticeable. Now a kilogram of this type of meat costs on average 130 UAH, which is 16.4% more than it was at the beginning of the year.

The cost of pork for Ukrainians rose by 10%. A kilogram of this meat cost about 110 UAH on the market.

The prices for chicken meat remained almost invariable – on average 88 UAH per kilogram. Growth since the beginning of 2018 has been 3.4%.

In addition to meat, vegetables are becoming more expensive. So, since the beginning of 2018, prices for cabbage have grown by a third, to 5.7 UAH per kilogram. And onions have become more expensive in half. Now a kilo of onions cost on average 11.5 UAH.

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the price increase for the first half of the year was more than 4%. However, if in 2017 the prices for some goods have increased even more than by 20%, in 2018 there were no such sharp jumps in food products. Prices continue to increase gradually, but do not reach critical levels.
