In Ukraine, the cost of salo has risen to 67.86 UAH / kg, which is 67% higher than at the beginning of this year, ZERNO reports with reference to the State Statistics Service.
In some regions of the country, salo has risen more than twice. Therefore, for example, in the Odessa region the price of salo has risen from 41.93 UAH / kg to 91.2 UAH / kg. In Mykolaiv region, the price has also changed quite significantly: from 34.86 UAH / kg to 71.96 UAH / kg.
However, the record price in Kiev: for a kilogram of product ask for an average of 123.9 UAH. Salo in the capital is now even more expensive than pork, which is sold in Kiev for 104.9 UAH / kg.
Since the beginning of the year, pork has risen by only 28%. Experts explain the current price leap differently: some are convinced that producers wind up the cost for profit, others see the reason for the price jump in the rise in price of feed and in the reduction in the population of pigs.
