Over the past year, the number of birds has increased by 1.3%.

Thus, poultry farming remains the only livestock sector that is increasing the number of livestock. After all, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as of November 1, 2017, the number of poultry was 224 374 600, which is 3040200 units or 1.3% more than in the past.

Although last year the dynamics was negative, in particular, on November 1, 2016 the number of bird kennels is less by 3.6 percent than a year earlier.

"In the field of poultry farming there is a positive dynamics," says the chairman of the Ukrainian Stock Breeders of Ukraine Iryna Palamar. - I think that the reason for this is a sharp decline in the production of pork, which is the favorite Ukrainian meat product. In addition, prices on the domestic market increased by about a quarter. So pork because of the situation with African swine fever has risen almost twice, Ukrainians began to eat more chicken, and the prices for chicken, respectively jumped. Chicken exports also increased: in January-August, 2017 exported 191.6 thousand tons of poultry and offal, which is 24% more than in the same period in 2016. Thus, poultry producers are now in the most attractive position for the industry, this is certainly a positive trend. For the consumer - negative, because the price of poultry meat will not fall through high consumer demand, until we increase the volume of production of pork and beef. "
