President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine and some other laws of Ukraine regarding the introduction of the “single window” mechanism and optimizing the implementation of control procedures when moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine.” This is reported by the presidential press service, agravery.com reported.

The law makes changes to the Customs Code of Ukraine and a number of laws of Ukraine in terms of simplifying non-tariff regulation of foreign economic activity.

“I will promote both the fight against smuggling and the protection of the service of business entities,” commented the Head of State on the signing of the Law.

“This is a transparent and open window for business entities, open to business, open to investment and will definitely improve the investment climate in the state,” he said.

The implementation of the Law will allow fully introducing the “single window” mechanism by optimizing the implementation of control procedures when moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine, which will speed up the process of export-import operations and, accordingly, improve the investment attractiveness and rating indicators of Ukraine, such as Doing Business and Efficiency Index logistics.

Adoption of the Law, in particular, will ensure the optimization and simplification of procedures for conducting state types of control in the conduct of foreign economic operations; reduce the number of regulatory authorities at checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine and in places of customs clearance of goods and vehicles within the country; improve the export potential of Ukraine; reduce the costs of subjects of foreign economic activity, exporting goods from Ukraine; reduce the number of permits submitted during the customs clearance of goods and their passage through the customs border of Ukraine; reduce administrative pressure and financial costs for business due to a reduction in the number of controlling bodies with which the subjects of foreign economic activity interact; reduce the risk of corruption actions due to the introduction of paperless interaction between officials of state bodies and business entities.
