An outbreak of ASF is registered in Ternopil region

Disease and death of pigs was registered on October 21 in the personal subsidiary farm of a citizen of the Barysh village of Buchatskyi in the Ternopil region.

This is reported by the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the State Scientific Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise (Kiev), the African swine fever (ASF) was detected.

To coordinate the actions for localization and elimination of the ASF outbreak, a meeting of the State Extraordinary Epizootic Committee of the Buchatskyi District State Administration was held on October 23, 2017, the decision of which approved the plan for the elimination of ASF, the borders of the epizootic focus, protection zones and surveillance.

In the hearth of the disease, measures are taken to localize and prevent the spread of the pathogen of ASF.
