Milk safety project will work in Ukraine until April 2019

The work of the Swiss-Ukrainian milk safety project continued until April 2019. This was announced by the director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Ukraine, Halger Tausch, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection reported.

This testifies to the relevance of the issues on which the Project is working in conjunction with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

Since the launch of the project “Creating a food safety control system based on risk assessment in the cycle of production and marketing of dairy products in Ukraine” in October 2015, it was planned that it would end on December 31, 2018.

According to Halger Tausch, in the short term, the experience gained will be summarized, analyzed, and on its basis an expanded concept will be developed, which will become a roadmap for Ukraine.

In total, during the work of the milk safety project, 12 regulatory acts related to milk production were finalized; 50 missions and more than 500 trainings took place; laboratories for testing raw milk were equipped; a series of round tables was held; a risk assessment direction was developed and implemented in the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection; significantly increased the awareness of all stakeholders about the system of control over the safety of milk, etc.
