At least 7 billion UAH are needed to create dairy cooperatives

The full-scale launch of a network of "dairy cooperatives" in Ukraine will cost the budget about 7 billion UAH.

It bears reminding that the government announced the launch of a program to support dairy cooperation in Ukraine for farmers. "If each village has such equipment, then the population will be able to deliver high quality milk." There are about 27,000 villages in Ukraine. At least 1.5 reception points for each locality are needed. 37 thousand are needed for the entire country. The equipment of one milking station with a milk line, refrigeration and filtering equipment is about 200 thousand UAH. Thus, the total required amount is about 7 billion UAH, " says the Association's chairman Iryna Palamar.

In turn, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olena Kovaleva said that in 2018 for the development of livestock in the budget this year is 4 billion UAH.

"This year's budget calls for a high amount of livestock development for the development of animal husbandry - 4 billion UAH, focusing on the construction and reconstruction of dairy farms, access to necessary equipment, improving the genetic potential of livestock." One of the tools will be affordable lending. It's also time for small farms to rationally go to improving the quality of milk through cooperation, since dairy cooperatives also fall under the state support program through cost compensation purchased equipment and machinery," quotes AgroPolit.com the Deputy Minister.
