Japan mission audited the state control system for the export of poultry meat and products from it in Ukraine. This is reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
On July 23, 2018 the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, which worked in Ukraine from July 16, completed its work audiing the state control system for the production of poultry meat and products from it.
It is noted that during the visit the mission's representatives got acquainted with the functions and powers of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and its territorial bodies, the system of state laboratories and hospitals of veterinary medicine, the state program for monitoring bird flu, also examined the effectiveness of the state laboratory network for the diagnosis of poultry diseases, measures for the eradication of the outbreak of highly pathogenic bird flu in Ukraine in previous years.
Particular attention was paid to registering facilities for poultry farming, monitoring compliance with biosafety requirements.
During the visit, Japanese specialists visited Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. In particular, they visited the State Research Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise, the border inspection post and household farm in the Kyiv region, a poultry farm in the Vinnytsia region, and an enterprise (farm, slaughterhouse, processing) in the Carpathian region.
The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection informs that an official report will be drawn up according to the results of the mission. After that, the parties will be able to undertake the working out of the conditions for the export of poultry meat and products from it to Japan and the coordination of the veterinary certificate for export.
