On May 6, 2018 within the framework of the exhibition "AGRO-2018" a business meeting "Finnish agricultural technologies for the Ukrainian market" was held. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine Juha Virtanen, Director General of the Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club Taras Vysotskyi, Director of the Agrotechnology Program from Finland Elina Pushkarzhevych and Head of the Ukrainian Stock Breeders Association Iryna Palamar took part in the discussion of issues of Ukrainian-Finnish cooperation in the field of agro-industrial technologies.
Juha Virtanen said that representatives of five leading Finnish companies arrived in Kiev, who are engaged in the production of graders, snowplows, the supply of mills and feed mixtures, the development of innovative feed plants, the production of tracked vehicles, tractors, etc.
In turn, the Head of Ukrainian Stock Breeders Association, Iryna Palamar, thanked the Ambassador of Finland in Ukraine for the organized meeting and noted that the possibilities of Ukrainian-Finnish cooperation in the field of agro-technologies have great prospects. "Finland is a well-known country in the world that produces high-quality food products and cares about the food security of its people. The introduction of innovative technologies will increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian agribusiness products in the world. And in this matter, we have much to learn from our Finnish partners," Iryna Palamar noted.
Participants of the event, in particular, noted that Finland is one of the leading countries in the field of animal husbandry. Moreover, among the Finnish companies that participated in the business meeting were suppliers of pig genetic material and producers of innovative feed plants, which is especially important for Ukrainian livestock breeders.
During the business meeting, a professional discussion took place between business representatives, non-governmental organizations, employees of the Embassy of Finland. In addition, available financial instruments for Ukrainian agricultural enterprises and farms were considered and the latest technologies and solutions from Finnish companies were presented.
