Information on the cases of ASF in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions

According to the information of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Dnipropetrovsk region, on June 21, 2018, a disease of pigs was detected in the subsidiary farm of the Pokrovskyi  Correctional Center No. 79 of the South-Eastern Interregional Directorate for the Execution of Penalties and Probations of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine (Pokrov city, Dnipropetrovsk region) agronews.ua reported.

 

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the Dnipropetrovsk regional state laboratory of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection on 22.06.2018, the DNA of the African swine fever virus (ASF) was detected (report on the results of the study No. 001155 p.m./18 of June 22, 2018).

In addition, according to the information of the General Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Odesa region, diseases and death of pigs were detected in the Agricultural Production Cooperative "Svitanok" (Plavni village, Reniiskyi district) and personal subsidiary farms of citizens in the Larzhanka, Nova Nekrasivka and Stara Nekrasivka villages, Izmail district.

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise (Kyiv) on 21.06 and 22.06.2018, the DNA of the ASF virus was detected (reports on the results of the study No. 006714 p.m./18 of 21.06. 2018, and No. 006809 p.m./18 No. 006812 p.m./18 No. 006813 p.m./18 of June 22, 2018).

In order to coordinate actions to localize and eliminate outbreaks of ASF, a meeting of state emergency antiepizootic commissions was held in the Pokrovskyi City and Izmailskyi District State Administrations, whose decisions approved plans for the elimination of ASF, defined the borders of epizootic foci, protection and surveillance zones.

In the foci of the disease measures are taken to localize and prevent the spread of the pathogen of ASF.
