The virus of African swine fever (ASF) was found in dead wild boars in Hungary, a few kilometers from the border with Ukraine, pigua.info reported.

On May 14 in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg uyezd, which is located a kilometer from the border with Ukraine, corpses of wild boars were found. Given the proximity of the border and the spring migration of wild boars, the most likely cause of infection is natural spread.

In this regard, the Hungarian authorities introduced control measures at the Ukrainian border, including strengthening inspections (luggage, vehicles, etc.) and disinfection procedures, as well as an information campaign.
