The government implements specific programs of state support for the agricultural sector, which will allow farmers to receive timely real assistance and stop negative trends in the now stagnant industries.

This was discussed during a videoconference with the departments of the agro-industrial complex of the regional state administrations today, on February 22, at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. First Deputy Minister Maksym Martyniuk took part in a videoconference from the city of Sumy, where he is on a working trip.

"The specific features of the current government programs are the focus on livestock support, which is allocated 4 with 6 billion UAH, and the development of entrepreneurship in the countryside, which will provide long-term economic and social effects," says Maksym Martyniuk.

He added that the Government's programs cover a wider range of agribusinesses - from enterprises to family farms and households. Information on the procedure for obtaining subsidies should come absolutely to every agrarian.
After detailing the mechanisms for obtaining subsidies with representatives of the regions, preparations for the spring field work and ensuring the commodity producers with material resources were discussed.

So, as of February 22, 16 regions have already begun to feed winter cereals - the work was carried out on 592 thousand hectares, which is 8% of the forecast.

According to preliminary data of the regions, the sowing area for the harvest of 2018 is comparable to last year and is expected to be within 27.2 million hectares. Of these, 14.6 million hectares (54%) under grain crops, which corresponds to the norms of the optimal ratio of crops in crop rotations.
