The government has approved the concept of the development of farms and agricultural cooperation

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

To implement the farming support program, they propose to include into the state budget 1 billion UAH. The concept will contribute to improving the material condition of the peasants, and will also be aimed at creating organizational, legal and financial conditions for the development of agricultural cooperatives and farms.

It is expected that the implementation of the Concept will increase the share of farms in the production of gross agricultural output to 12%, an increase in the number of jobs five times from 100 thousand to 0.5 million, the technical re-equipment of farmers, an increase of 10% of areas under organic crops.

 

It is also assumed that the adoption of the program will stimulate the acquisition by farms of the status of farmers and the association of farmers in cooperatives.

The concept contains financial instruments to support the production of livestock, horticulture, viticulture and processing of agricultural products, a reduction in the cost of agrocredits and agro-insurance and support for start-up farmers.
