The format of multilateral international consultations will make it possible to achieve progress in the fight against ASF

With such an initiative, the Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa, met with the deputy head of the mission of the Hungarian Embassy in Ukraine, Laszlo Chaba Pap.

According to him, the spread of the ASF virus is relevant for the countries of Eastern and Central Europe. Therefore, today's meeting of representatives of the Hungarian side with the experts of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the desire to deepen cooperation are relevant and timely.

"We periodically hold meetings and consultations with colleagues from Romania, Poland, Moldova, the Baltic countries. However, this is more a bilateral meeting. In our opinion, it would be advisable to develop a format for multilateral meetings involving all countries interested in solving this problem, "said Volodymyr Lapa.

Such meetings, stressed the Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, should be held every month and a half.

The Hungarian party, in turn, expressed interest in establishing closer cooperation between the competent authorities of both countries in order to minimize the impact of this disease on the economies of countries. "We are ready to exchange information, working out and ideas in order to get positive results of solving this problem," says the deputy head of the mission.

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed in the near future to organize negotiations between the specialists of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the competent authority of Hungary with the involvement of representatives of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Zakarpattia region, during which the parties will analyze the situation with the ASF on the border of the Zakarpattia region of Ukraine and Hungary. They will be able to determine joint actions for resolving the most pressing problem issues.
