Exports of dairy products increased by 73% in 2017

Following the results of ten months of this year, Ukraine supplied dairy products to foreign markets for $ 225.6 million, which is 73.2% more than in the same period last year.

The export of cheeses amounted to 7.4 thousand tons, which is 16.4% more than last year. The main buyer of Ukrainian cheese for the analyzed period was Kazakhstan - 48%, or $ 12.6 million. In particular, in September there they delivered products for $ 1.7 million. The second largest market in Moldova was $ 6.3 million, or 23.9%. In Egypt, for ten months, cheese was delivered at $ 2.9 million (11%).

Import of cheese for ten months increased by 42.8% in physical terms and amounted to 7.7 thousand tons, in money terms it grew by 58.45% - to $ 35.6 million.

Export of dairy whey for the analyzed period amounted to 27.5 thousand tons, which is 38.4% more than last year. In value terms, this amounted to $ 21.6 million (+ 92.2%). The main buyer is China (10 million, or 46.7% of total exports).

According to customs statistics, oil exports in January-October amounted to 24.5 thousand tons, which is 152% more than last year. This brought the country $ 96.8 million, which is three times more than in 2016. The top three buyers remain unchanged: Turkey ($ 18.2 million), Morocco ($ 16.6 million) and the Netherlands ($ 10 million).

Import of oil for the analyzed period was only 470 tons, which is 52% less than last year. In monetary terms, imports decreased by 17%, to $ 2.8 million.
Oil is purchased in: the Netherlands ($ 1.4 million), Germany ($ 564 thousand) and France ($ 360 thousand).
