Dozens of pigs were slaughtered due to the ASF in the Kherson region

In the Oleshky district of the Kherson region laboratory studies have confirmed two epiozootic foci of African swine fever. According to the Oleshky Regional State Administration, on August 13, the meetings of the Emergency Situations Commission were held in the Regional State Administration, where, according to the classification criteria, the event was declared an emergency, agronews.ua reported.

During the eradication of the outbreak 5 animals were killed in the town of Oleshky and 57 animals were killed in the village of Pravi Solontsi, which were then burned in a certain place.

Part of the town of Oleshky and the village of Pravi Solontsi is recognized as a protection zone, where it is actually necessary to slaughter all clinically healthy pigs, the head of the Regional State Administration Olena Kravchenko-Skalozub said.

In the town of Oleshky 205 pigs were counted, the data about which is now being specified by the City Council.

According to the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, in Ukraine from January 1 to July 31 there were 60 cases of ASF among domestic animals (10.6 thousand - affected livestock), of them in July - 12 cases with more than 1.6 thousand - affected livestock. During the same period 35 cases were registered in the wild fauna with a total number of affected livestock - 338.
