Representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the state enterprise "Agency for the Identification and Registration of Animals", the State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and the Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise went to study the Latvian experience in the agrarian sphere.

The meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia Janis Duklavs and specialists of the Ministry of Latvia's experience in the field of rural development took place within the framework of the project "Strengthening the Consultation System for the Integration of the Rural Sector into the EU Common Market" implemented by the Latvian Center for Rural Consultation and Education. During the event, the prospects of agriculture and the possibility of integration into the European market were discussed.
Ukrainian experts were interested in Latvia's experience in supporting small producers of agricultural products, cooperatives created by such producers, the use of various financial instruments for such support, the experience of the rural advisory system and the activities of various institutions supporting rural development.
In addition, Ukraine and Latvia discussed new directions and projects concerning cooperation between the two states.
