Law enforcers exposed a private enterprise that purchased and supplied to the territory of Ukraine plant protection products of unknown origin and composition from the People's Republic of China. As reported on the site of the Prosecutor General's Office, the company conducted its activities in the Kyiv region and was exposed by the Boryspil management, agroday.com.ua reported.
In fact violators traded drugs that were not allowed to import and did not pass mandatory state registration in Ukraine.
In the process of customs inaccurate data was entered in the declaration, allegedly crop protection agents were manufactured in the territory of the European Union and have state registration. The employees of customs and environmental authorities deliberately did not see inconsistencies in drugs that were imported under the guise of quality crop protection agents, Prosecutor General's Office reported.
In total 17 names of chemicals of unknown origin were discovered, which were imported as a European product. The unpaid amount for state registration of these drugs is estimated at 1 million UAH.
The GPU also clarifies that as a result of the searches 139 tons of plant protection products were found and seized for a total of almost 18 million UAH, which were imported without proper permits.
It bears reminding that according to market participants, a quarter of pesticides sold in Ukraine, in fact, is falsified. Some of them are illegally imported from abroad; the rest is produced by local.
Interpol investigators say that such criminal business is among the top ten in terms of profitability.
