The number of cattle in Ukraine as of October 1, 2017 amounted to almost 4.14 million animal units, which is 0.5% less than on the same date in 2016.
This is reported by the State Statistics Service.
At the same time, according to the statistics, the number of cows during this period decreased by 1.9% and amounted to 2.12 animal units.
According to State Statistics Service, in January-September 2017 the number of pigs decreased by 9.3% compared to the same period in 2016 - up to 6.762 million animal units, sheep and goats - increased by 0.4%, to 1.577 million animal units.
The number of birds in the country as compared to October 1, 2016 increased by 3.2% - up to 233.773 million animal units.
As reported with reference to State Statistics Service data, the cattle stock in Ukraine (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the zone of ATO) in 2016 amounted to 3.682 million animal units, which is 1.8% less than in 2015.
The number of pigs in 2016 decreased by 5.8% - to 6.669 million animal units, sheep and goats - by 0.8%, to 1.315 million animal units, poultry - by 1.1%, to 201.7 million animal units.
