The Belgian Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC) confirmed the ASF among 2 wild boars near the Belgian village of Etal, in the southern province of Luxembourg, pigua.info reported.

The village is located about 20 km from the French border, and also 20 km from the border with Luxembourg. To the German border - 65 km.

It is still unclear how the virus got to the south of Belgium. The nearest known place where the virus was registered among wild boars - around Zlín in the east part of Czech Republic. It is about 1000 km to the east.

In Belgium there were already cases of ASF, but they were able to eradicate the virus disease in 1985.
