Belarus restricted the importation of pigs from the Lviv region of Ukraine due to the African swine fever (ASF).

This was reported by the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.

So, in connection with the detection of the ASF virus, temporary restrictions on import of live pigs, zoos and circus animals of susceptible species, sperm of boars, swine meat (including wild boars) and other pig-breeding raw materials from the Lviv region are introduced from October 12, as well as the products of its processing; leather, hornhoofed and intestinal raw materials, animal hair, wild boar meat, hunting trophies obtained from susceptible species of animals, feed and feed additives for animals of plant and animal origin, used equipment for transportation, keeping, slaughtering and cutting of pigs and animal raw materials (products) origin.

These restrictions apply to the import of feed and feed additives for cats and dogs, as well as finished feeds that have been thermally processed and made from pig-breeding raw materials, originating from the Lviv region.

However, the restrictions do not apply to permits issued in consultation with the committees on agriculture and food of the Republic of Belarus, for meals that have been thermally processed in the manufacturing process, for the production of animal feed and compound feed for valuable fish species.
