Belarus has limited the import of pigs from four regions of Ukraine

Belarus restricted the importation of pigs from the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Ternopil regions of Ukraine for African swine fever (ASF).

This was reported by the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.

So, in connection with the detection of the ASF virus, temporary restrictions are imposed on import of live pigs, zoos and circus animals of susceptible species to the territory of the Republic of Belarus from the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Ternopil regions of Ukraine, boar sperm, pig meat (including wild boars) and other pig-breeding raw materials, as well as products of its processing; leather, hornfire and intestinal raw materials, hair, wild boar meat, hunting trophies obtained from susceptible animal species, fodder and feed additives for animals of vegetable and animal origin, used equipment for transportation, keeping, slaughtering and cutting of pigs and animal raw materials (products) origin.

These restrictions apply to the import of feed and feed additives for cats and dogs, as well as finished feeds that have been thermally processed and made from pig-breeding raw materials, originating from the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Ternopil regions.

However, the restrictions do not apply to permits issued in consultation with the committees on agriculture and food of the Republic of Belarus, for meals that have been thermally processed in the manufacturing process, for the production of animal feed and feed for valuable fish species.
