ASF is recorded in the Odesa region

According to the information of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Odesa region, on March 20, 2018 the disease and the death of pigs were registered in personal subsidiary plots of citizens in the Savran urban-type settlement and in the Polianetske village (Savran district, Odesa region), agronews.ua reports.

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and the Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise (Kyiv), on March 20, 2018, the African swine fever (ASF) diagnosis was established (report on the results of investigation No. 002402 p.m./18 of 20/03/2018).

In order to coordinate actions to localize and eliminate outbreaks of ASF, a meeting of the state emergency antiepizootic commission was held at the Savran district state administration, the decision of which approved the plan for the elimination of ASF, the borders of epizootic foci, protection and surveillance zones.

In the foci of the disease, measures are taken to localize and prevent the spread of the pathogen of ASF.
