77 foci of especially dangerous animal diseases were recorded in the world during the week

During April 21 and 28, 2018 the countries reported to the World Organization for Animal Health about 77 outbreaks of especially dangerous diseases. This is reported by pigua.info.

Veterinary services of Russia for the past period reported an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in the Belgorod region (1).

In Hungary, for the first time, wild boar was infected by African swine fever (1). New foci of ASF were also found in Latvia (11), Poland (45), Republic of Moldova (1), Ukraine (1) and Czech Republic (3).

The outbreak of foot and mouth disease (serotype B) was found in China (2). Veterinary services in 6 countries reported about highly pathogenic avian influenza: China (1), Mexico (2), Taiwan (1), Finland (1), Sweden (3) and Japan (2). Low pathogenic avian influenza was found in France (1).

Over the past period, the World Organization for Animal Health has also been informed of an increase in the incidence of horses with influenza in Argentina and of pyroplasmosis diagnosed among horse in Croatia (1).
