46 cases of ASF among boars were confirmed in Poland in a week

Last week 46 new foci of African swine fever were recorded in Poland. This was reported by the chief veterinarian of the country according to pigua.info.

Thus, a hundred and sixty-second outbreak of African swine fever has been detected in the pig farm since the emergence of ASF in Poland. The focus of the disease was found in the farm, which kept 1825 pigs, located in the Parczew district of the Lublin province The presence of the virus was confirmed by the results of the studies obtained in the National Reference Laboratory of ASF at the State Veterinary Institute - the Research Institute in Pulawy.

In the household, in which an outbreak of ASF was detected, procedures are carried out related to the elimination of the disease.

Also, the Chief Veterinary Officer reported on the detection of 45 cases of ASF among boars in Poland (1508-1553 in 2018). All of them occurred on the territory of Lublin, Podlaskie, Mazowieckie and Warminsko-Mazurskie provinces.
