In Ukraine, 123 cases of ASF have been recorded since the beginning of the year. This is evidenced by the statistics of the site "STOP ASF", which was launched in the framework of the FAO technical assistance project "Development of the capacity for early detection and response to African swine fever in Ukraine", UNN reported.

79 cases of the disease were registered among domestic animals, 34 - among wild ones. In another ten cases, ASF was recorded on the territory of infected objects.

A total of 434 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) have been reported in Ukraine over the past 6.5 years.

The greatest number of cases of ASF occurred in the Odesa and Poltava regions - 56 and 44 cases, respectively. Next come the Mykolaiv and Chernihiv regions - 34 and 31 cases, and the Rivne region - 30 cases.

The smallest number of ASF outbreaks was registered in the Lviv region - 1 case.

Over the past 6.5 years, the ASF virus has not bypassed any of the regions of Ukraine.

It is also reported that the first causative agent of ASF was detected in 2012 in the village of Komyshuvatka, Zaporizhzhia region.

Note that the ASF has provoked a significant reduction in the number of pigs in Ukraine, as well as the rapid rise in prices for pork and fat.

Also, due to the disease, the indicators of import of foreign pork to Ukraine are now actively increasing.
