Production of livestock products will be reduced by 0.6%

Gross livestock production is expected at the level of 69.2 billion UAH. This is only 0.6% less than in 2016, while last year the production volume declined by 2%, and in 2015 - by 3.7%.

This was told by the director of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics", academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yurii Lupenko, the press service of the NSC informs.

According to the calculations of the scientists of the Institute of Agrarian Economics, adjusted to the current dynamics, the output of meat - livestock and poultry production - will practically remain at the level of 2016 (-0.4%) and amount to 3197.1 thousand tons.

The production of meat of cattle will increase by 2.3% to 619 thousand tons. There will continue a tendency for an increase (+2.2%) in the production of poultry meat - up to 1561 thousand tons. The volumes of production of sheep and goat meat will amount to 29.1 thousand tons. t - 96.8% against the level of 2016.

The production of pig meat will decrease by 5.8% and amount to 950 thousand tons.
The production of milk will also remain almost at the level of 2016. Its volume is 10296.0 thousand tons, which is 0.8% less than the level of the previous year.

Eggs are projected to receive 15.3 billion pieces, which is 1.6% higher than last year.

Traditionally, wool production will decrease - up to 2 thousand tons, which is 9,1% less than in 2016.
"At the same time, in 2017 the volume of livestock production will be the lowest since 2010," sums up Yurii Lupenko.
