Epizootic situation on especially dangerous diseases of animals in the world

Between November 4 and 10, 2017, countries reported to the World Animal Health (OIE) about 67 cells of disease.

Over the past period, Russia has reported to the OIE five new outbreaks of African swine fever in Belgorod (2), Nizhny Novgorod (2) and Samara (1) regions.

In other countries of the world, African swine fever was registered in Latvia (3), Poland (16) and in the Czech Republic (8). The focus of highly pathogenic avian influenza was found in Taiwan (1). In the province of Maputo, in the south of the Republic of Mozambique (1), an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease was detected (serotype SAT-2). The Namibian Veterinary Services reported a nodular dermatitis focus (1) and anthrax (1).

New cases of smallpox and sheep pox were registered in Greece (5). The outbreak of bluetongue was again found in France (1) and in the previously safe Switzerland (2).

In addition to the diseases listed above, in the past period the world has registered:
-    rabies among dogs in Malaysia (21)
-    Middle Eastern respiratory coronavirus syndrome in camels in Saudi Arabia (2).
