The average value of the FAO Dairy Price Index in September was 224.2 points, which is 4.5 points (2.1%) higher than the level of the previous month.

This was reported by the press service of FAO.

Thus, the value of the index is 27.4% higher than the level of the same period last year, but still 18.6% below its peak value in February 2014.

The September growth is due to a limited supply from Australia, New Zealand and the European Union, and a very small increase in supply in the United States.

The greatest demand, especially in Asia, is still butter and cheese. At the same time, international prices for skimmed milk powder and whole milk powder decreased due to limited consumer demand.
